Non-Neutral Stability, Diurnal Winds
About
This simulation models diurnal winds and non-neutral stability for a domain in the Lewis and Clark National Forest. This site was chosen due to its high concentration of RAWS stations. The simulation is initialized from Porphyry Peak (PHYM8), and the simulated winds are compared to two nearby RAWS Stations (NCRM8, TS673). This simulation is automatic and will update every three hours. For more information of thermal parameterizations, see this page
Validation
These continuously updating plots compare wind speed and direction data from RAWS stations to the nearest simulation point.
